Lagos APC Tags Peter Obi “Complainer-in-Chief” Over Tinubu Vacation Criticism

Date:

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has taken a particularly tough stance against former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, following his recent remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s vacation abroad.

APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, branded Obi a “professional complainer-in-chief,” stating that he has turned governance problems into a never-ending chain of social media commentary without any viable solution.

According to Oladejo, leadership is about responsibility and timing. Anyone can talk about anything without even offering policy alternatives. Sometimes, silence can be a noble option for a statesman.

Oladejo insisted that Tinubu, despite taking a brief vacation, remains in charge of government affairs. He explained that modern leaders can govern effectively while resting because they are constantly in touch with intelligence and security teams.

He cited hope in the face of growing political despair. Oladejo also expressed that Obi’s aides should do a better job of guiding him, and that any opposition party should be focused on constructive engagement and not a never-ending series of complaints.

The APC spokesman also expressed that while Obi is offering chants, the ruling party is focused on issues related to economic recovery, security, and restoring public confidence. He also stated that, while political drama may ensue, Tinubu will not be distracted from his responsibilities as President.

Obi had previously criticized Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips, claiming they give the impression that the president is uncomfortable at home while Nigeria faces pressing challenges. The APC dismissed the submission as unnecessary commentary, reiterating their belief in Tinubu’s ability to govern Nigeria.

These conversational exchanges highlight the growing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition as political debates heat up. For now, the APC insists that it will remain focused on good governance rather than political noise.
