Rio de Janeiro, September 5, 2025 – The Brazilian National Football team triumphed over Chile 3 – 0 in Thursday’s World Cup qualifier game at Maracanã Stadium. With qualifications already secured to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, head coach Carlo Ancelotti took that opportunity to see the depth in his squad as he introduced some players into his plans and wants to evaluate some of the brigades on the introduction to the squad.

Bruno Guimarães scored the final goal in the 76th minute – completing a Brazilian performance that was efficient going forward and composed in defence.
The victory highlighted the depth of the player’s with Ancelotti focussing on versatility and tactical discipline – practices are focused after star power. Established players complemented the new acquisitions and the squad appeared confident and continuing to develop, as they prepared for the challenges ahead. Notably absent from the squad were a lot of senior players, including Neymar, who were rested as Ancelotti was more invested in ensuring the squad balance was kept in check, especially at work and also managing player fitness.
For Chile, the loss was a sign of a difficult qualifying campaign and another chance for them to continue to rebuild and integrate young players into their squad for the future. This end hopes of Chile qualifying for the 2026 World Cup being realistic.
The result underlines Brazil’s strength in South America Football, coupled with Brazil utilising the remaining qualifiers to work on strategy or maintain continuity and momentum and prepare for the World Cup qualifier from the South American sector.
